About This Site
Firearm owners with a valid firearms licence or Firearms Acquisition Certificate (FAC) can now apply to register their firearms on-line for free.

What you can do using our electronic services

You may use our electronic services to submit an on-line application to:
  • register for free non-restricted firearms that you owned on December 1, 1998 and have not yet registered;
  • re-register restricted and prohibited firearms that were registered to you under the former Act (prior to December 1, 1998).
You may also use our electronic services to:
  • make a change to your residence and/or mailing address;
  • make a change to your telephone number; and
  • sign up for a Canada Firearms Centre (CAFC) E-Services Personal Identification Number (PIN).

You may use the Logout and Help buttons on each page at any time. If you logout of the secure Web site, all information you have entered but not submitted will be lost.

As an additional security measure, your connection will automatically end if there has been no activity for 15 minutes.

IMPORTANT: If you have already submitted a paper application to register your firearms, please do NOT apply again using the on-line E-Services. You will get a refund for any fees that you have already paid to register non-restricted firearms that you owned on December 1, 1998.

PLEASE REMEMBER... Whenever you handle firearms, follow all safety precautions.

Confidentiality of Information

Protecting the privacy of your data is of the utmost importance to us. All information you provide will be kept completely confidential. We use high-level security methods, including encryption and firewalls, to ensure the confidentiality of your personal information. The information you provide will not be stored on the Web server.
