Mr. Andre (Andy) Savary

Director General, NRC Information Management Services Branch

Andre (Andy) Savary joined NRC in 1972 and has held a number of senior management positions, culminating in his appointment as Director General, NRC Information Management Services Branch (NRC-IMSB) in March 1998.

A graduate of Carleton University, Mr. Savary brings great depth and breadth of experience to his current position. During his years at NRC, Mr. Savary has worked in fields as diverse as general administration, business development, policy and planning development, and information technology management. Prior to joining NRC-IMSB, Andy served for five years as Director, NRC Research Program Support Office, where he managed a number of services in support of the Vice-President, Research.

Since its inception in 1998 and under his directorship, NRC-IMSB has provided leadership in the development of a world-class information technology infrastructure at NRC. NRC-IMSB services include the provision and maintenance of corporate-wide business systems (including an SAP Enterprise Resource Planning system), messaging systems, wide-area data and voice networks, IT Security programs, office and scientific workstation and server support, IT policy and standards development, and information management planning.
