Dr. D.L. Singleton, Director General, NRC Institute for Chemical Process and Environmental Technology

Dr. Donald L. Singleton is currently Director General of the Institute for Chemical Process and Environmental Technology (ICPET). He is responsible for the leadership and management of one of four NRC institutes in the Manufacturing Technology Group. ICPET is a multidisciplinary institute concerned with the innovation of clean process technologies for Canadian manufacturing operations.

Prior to joining NRC management, Dr. Singleton was Director of the Chemical Systems and Materials Program of ICPET. In that position, he was responsible for the planning, management, delivery and strategic scientific and technical direction of the program; developing collaborative partnerships with industry. He started his career at NRC as a Research Officer in 1974 in the chemical kinetics and laser processing areas; from 1990-1999, he was Group Leader, Chemical Systems Analysis, where he was responsible for developing experimental program content, defining research and development activities and supervising researchers.

His key research interest is in modeling and simulation of chemical systems.
