Delwyn Fredlund
NRC Council Member
Dr. Fredlund has spent most of his career working for the University of Saskatchewan, devoting his time and efforts to research. Among his many contributions, Dr. Fredlund is responsible for developing a research program and organizing an internationally renowned research group on unsaturated soil mechanics. He has published numerous journal and conference research papers, and has been appointed Adjunct Professor at universities in Singapore and Hong Kong.
In 2004, Dr. Fredlund received the Order of Canada for his important contributions to geotechnical engineering in Canada as well as his dedication to helping others through his work for Canadian Food for the Hungry International. Dr. Fredlund earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He then went on to earn his Master of Science degree and Ph.D. from the University of Alberta. He was appointed to NRC's Council in October 2005.
