James Hatton

NRC Council Member

As a partner with law firm Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy, in Vancouver, Mr. Hatton has provided advice on numerous technology matters including the development of   biotechnology research and collaboration agreements; acquisition of intellectual property rights and licensing arrangements; management of Internet-based businesses; establishment and maintenance of computer outsourcing relationships and licensing, sale and acquisition of software and hardware systems. 

Mr. Hatton takes particular interest in collaboration agreements between biotechnology companies and pharmaceutical companies. He holds degrees in law and commerce from the University of British Columbia. He was appointed to NRC's Council in May 2005.
