Howard Tennant

NRC Council Member

Howard Tennant, NRC Council Member

Dr. Tennant earned an MBA and Ph.D. (Business Administration) from the University of Oregon. He has served as Dean of Graduate Studies & Research and Associate Vice-President (Research) at the University of Saskatchewan and, later, as President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lethbridge. As part of his involvement with many organizations, he has served as Chair of the Association of Universities & Colleges of Canada, director of the Saskatchewan Research Council and director of the Alberta Research Council. Currently, he is Associate Chair of the Board of Management of the Alberta Science & Research Authority and a member of the Advisory Board of Statistics Canada.

Dr. Tennant was appointed to the NRC Council in October 2003. He chairs Council's Audit Committee and sits on Council's Executive Committee.
