Corporate Overview

Organization

NRC is composed of over 20 institutes and national programs, spanning a wide variety of disciplines and offering a broad array of services. We are located in every province in Canada and play a major role in stimulating community-based innovation.

NRC institutes and programs are organized into five (5) key areas:

  • Life Sciences
  • Physical Sciences
  • Engineering
  • Technology and Industry Support
  • Corporate Services

Governance

NRC is an agency of the Government of Canada, reporting to Parliament through the Minister of Industry. It is governed by a council of 22 appointees drawn from its client community.
