NRC Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre
The NRC Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre's (NRC-CPFC) primary aim is to support growth of the Canadian photonics sector by offering companies, universities and others access to fabrication services that will enable these organizations to develop leading edge photonic devices.
The NRC-CPFC provides simulation, design, fabrication, testing, and prototyping services to a wide range of clients. By helping reduce time to market, the NRC-CPFC provides Canadian companies with a competitive edge in the global market. In addition, the NRC-CPFC leverages existing world-class expertise, research and development infrastructure, and sources of venture capital for the benefit of the Canadian photonics sector.
The NRC-CPFC offers:
comprehensive suite of fee-based epitaxial, fabrication and characterization services. These services will be geared towards early-stage prototyping and small to medium volume production runs of photonic devices and circuits
a number of design and testing services that complement its core fabrication services including design and simulation of photonic devices
training opportunities
on-site training
- graduate student and technical officer training
- intensive training sessions for students to gain experience in design and fabrication of photonics components¸
