Custom Antibodies - Polyclonal Antibodies Production

The Facility's team has extensive experience and expertise in antibody production and purification. One animal technician is dedicated to rabbit polyclonal antibody production, including antigen emulsion preparation, injections, bleedings and blood centrifugation, following Standard Operating Procedures.
Standard polyclonal antibody service
The Custom Antibody Facility offers standard immunization protocols for the generation of polyclonal antisera in rabbit. Three immunization schedules are offered: 80, 164 or 248 days. The standard service includes:
- Antigen emulsion in Freund's incomplete adjuvant
- Injection every 3 weeks
- Blood collection and centrifugation
- Delivery (Montreal area)

Antisera purification, analysis, labeling or fragments preparation
The Custom Antibody Facility offers several additional services according to individual needs such as:
- Antibody purification
- Total IgG purification (protein A)
- Peptide/protein immunoaffinity chromatography
- Antibody analysis
- E.L.I.S.A. (Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay)
- SDS-PAGE and Western Blot testing on antigen, standard cell extracts (HeLa, 3T3, COS7, RAW264.7), or the client's own extract.
- Antibody labeling with FITC, rhodamine, horseradish peroxidase or alkaline phosphatase
- Antibody fragment preparation: Fab or F(ab)'2
Complementary work
The Custom Peptide Facility can also assist in the design, synthesis and conjugation of peptide antigens.
Animal Care Standard Procedures
All protocols used by the BRI Custom Antibody Facility are in accordance with the Canadian Council on Animal Care guidelines.
