What is pancreatic cancer?

Pancreatic cancer starts in the cells of the pancreas. The pancreas is a glandular organ that lies behind the stomach. It produces proteins (enzymes) to help digest food, and insulin, which regulates sugar levels in our blood.

Diabetes hikes risk for liver, pancreatic cancers - Ontario

People with diabetes mellitus have three to four times the risk of developing liver cancer, and more than twice the risk of developing pancreatic cancer than non-diabetics, according to research presented at the Third Annual Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research Meeting in Seattle.
