Welcome to our Region



NRC-IRAP helps small - and medium-sized Canadian firms build their capability in technology and innovation. Our Industrial Technology Advisors (ITAs) work with you on-site to assess your company's needs and design solutions tailored to your business.

NRC-IRAP offers you direct technical assistance, access to the latest technological advances, expertise, facilities, and resources, as well as cost-shared financing of innovative technical projects.

Twenty-five ITAs work in the Maritimes-11in New Brunswick, 10 in Nova Scotia, 4 in Prince Edward Island. They manage the region as an integrated group, working in teams. Expertise covers a range disciplines including chemistry, biology, and agronomy. Opportunities for clients relate to the application of technology for product enhancement in the traditional industries of agriculture, wood products, and aquaculture. Promising growth sectors include electronics, informatics, telecommunications, and biotechnology.
