National Associations Active in Criminal Justice (NAACJ)

The NAACJ play a key role in the renewal of Canada’s youth justice system, in their own right and as advocates in support of the involvement of other organizations. They establish new, or strengthen current, links between themselves and sectors not traditionally involved with youth justice. They also share their knowledge on the workings of the youth criminal justice system and provide advice and guidance to ensure the successful implementation of the Initiative.

Examples of how NAACJ members play a role:

  • National Salvation Army Correctional and Justice Services Symposium

Salvation Army will host a National Symposium that will unite representatives of the Salvation Army and others working in the area of youth justice (including those involved in direct service, policy-making, etc.). The symposium will encourage an informed community understanding and acceptance of, and support for, the Youth Justice Renewal Initiative.
