About Child Find Manitoba Inc.

Child Find Manitoba is a charitable organization dedicated to the personal safety of all children. Our goal is to reduce child victimization by providing programs and services to the Canadian public. CFM is a registered charity incorporated in April 1985 following the disappearance and murder of thirteen year old Candace Derksen. The organization works cooperatively with agencies involved in the area of child protection and is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors.

Child Find Manitoba's mandate is to:

  • Assist in the location of missing children
  • Reduce the incidence of sexual exploitation of children
  • Reduce the number of children who go missing through prevention programs on child personal safety and sexual exploitation
  • Increase awareness and advocate on issues relating to missing and exploited children

What does CFM do?

  • Assists in the location of missing children
  • Advocates for the importance of child personal safety and issues surrounding missing and exploited children
  • Educates children and their families about how to keep themselves safer
  • Prevents harm to children through education and prevention programs
  • Develops training material and programs for children, families, law enforcement, government, and other non-profit organization
  • Researches better practices on how we keep our children safer
  • Receives and disseminates reports dealing with child sexual exploitation on the Internet
