NRC Employee Presented With Major Public Service Award

Jean-Pierre Lemieux, Quebec Regional Director of NRC's Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP), recently received a Head of the Public Service Award.

The awards program recognizes the achievements of 20 federal public service employees for their performance, innovation, and contributions they make to Canadian society. Lemieux won the award in the category of valuing and supporting people, receiving it for his leadership and excellence in dealing with employees.

Lemieux incorporates NRC's core values. He believes in teamwork within his region, between other regions, as well as with NRC-IRAP's numerous partners. In a changing world and workplace, Lemieux sustains a climate of trust, recognizes and values good work, and promotes open communication in the workplace, and inclusiveness. All of these qualities have a significant impact on the success NRC-IRAP has with its clients, many of whom are small and medium-sized businesses.

On a yearly basis, NRC-IRAP helps some 12,4000 firms, providing the technology advice, assistance and services necessary to develop and exploit technologies in the competitive, global economy.
