Finding NRC Research Facilities from Sea to Sea
Whether you are visiting for a business meeting, attending a conference or coming for a job interview, starting in early February it will be easier to find out exactly where NRC Facilities are located in Canada.
By accessing the NRC Institutes, Programs and Technology Centres Listing users can find driving directions to the NRC location they want to visit. In most cases, directions are accompanied by a map of the area and a photo of the building. NRC offices that are accessible by public transit are identified, with information about route numbers and pick-up and drop-off points. Time and cost of taxi rides are also indicated.
NRC facilities are located from sea to sea, from Vancouver to St. John's. In larger centres where more than one facility is present, they will be individually listed. The newest NRC facilities can be located easily, such as the NRC Institute for Nutrisciences and Health in Charlottetown, and the NRC National Institute for Nanotechnology in Edmonton.
These facilities are home to specialized equipment and resources, and the source of unique expertise and services that play a critical role in helping stimulate community-based innovation across Canada. Examples include the low-speed wind-tunnel in Ottawa (part of the NRC Institute for Aerospace Research); the Aquaculture Research Station in Sandy Cove, Nova-Scotia (part of the NRC Institute for Marine Biosciences); the radio astronomy observatory in Penticton, B.C. (part of the NRC Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics); and the NRC Information Centre (NIC) in Longueuil, Quebec, one of many NICs in a national network operated by the NRC Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information.
