Bell 412 Advanced Systems Research Aircraft
Bell 412 Advanced Systems Research Aircraft
It might look like this helicopter is landing in a field, but to the pilot it's landing on the heaving deck of a ship at the sea. NRC's Bell 412 Advanced Systems Research Aircraft is one of the world's few airborne simulators. Through custom-built onboard software and hardware it's able to mimic the feel, through stick forces and the aircraft's responsiveness, of almost any helicopter or external conditions. NRC scientists use the system with the world's leading helicopter companies and users to test new control, guidance and navigation technologies.
