High-Speed Wind Tunnel
High-Speed Wind Tunnel
NCR's high-speed wind tunnel is a pressurized, intermittent-flow facility capable of running in the subsonic, transonic and supersonic flow regimes at speeds ranging from one-tenth to more than four-times sonic speed. Here a half-model of the Bombardier Global Express business jet is being tested. NRC engineers recently helped Bombardier Aerospace investigate refinements to one of their regional jets to optimize its performance, particularly in the take-off and landing configuration where high lift is required.
