Ice Skates, Sleds and Toboggans

In Canada, participating in activities such as ice skating, sledding, and tobogganing are a good way to stay active during the cold Winter months. However, there are dangers and safety precautions to be aware of.

Health Canada believes that the injuries that occur from these Winter activities can be prevented if skaters, tobogganers, and sledders wear proper safety gear and avoid risky behaviour.

Follow our recommended precautions, such as always wearing a helmet, so that you can go out and enjoy many hours of injury-free Winter sports.
