ONTARIO JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED




OTTAWA, February 28, 1996 -- The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Allan Rock, today announced the following appointment:

Joseph G. Quinn of Windsor is appointed a judge of the Ontario Court (General Division) in Windsor. He replaces Mr. Justice G.I. Thomson, who was transferred to replace Mr. Justice C.C. Misener when he chose to become a supernumerary judge.

Mr. Justice Quinn graduated in law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1966, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1968. He joined the firm of Charles Donaldson, Q.C., in Windsor, where he practised law until 1971. He then practised general litigation with Quinn, Ouellette & McCullough until 1985, when he was appointed a Master of the Supreme Court of Ontario (Ontario Court (General Division)) in Windsor.

This appointment is effective immediately.
