Raymond V. Hession

Born in 1940, Raymond Hession is a graduate of the Royal Military College. He first joined the public service in 1958 as a member of the Canadian Forces and rose to become an Executive Director in Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. He was named President and Chief Executive Officer of CMHC in 1976 and Chairman of the Board in 1979. Mr. Hession was appointed Deputy Minister of the Departments of Supply and Services and Regional Industrial Expansion in 1982. Mr. Hession returned to the private sector in 1987 where he has been involved in a number of management and consulting companies, including Kinburn Technology Corporation, ARVESS Management Services Corp., PAXPORT Management Inc., Hession, Neville & Associates, and HLB Decision Economics Inc.

In 2001, Mr. Hession worked with the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services on a business transformation project that received the Diamond Award from Showcase Ontario as the best public-private partnership for 2001. Subsequently, the Ontario government engaged Mr. Hession to review and report on the integrated justice project in that province.

In October 2002, Mr. Hession was named Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Ottawa Hospital.
