Information for a Reporting Entity to Delegate Reporting Permissions to a Service ProviderHow reporting permissions are delegated to the service providerYour service provider has to provide you with their service provider number. Once you have that number, you will have to log on to F2R and select the “Service Providers” link within the administrative menu. From there select “Designate a service provider” and follow the steps. Once the delegation is complete, your service provider will have to accept and an e-mail will be sent to you advising that your service provider can now report on your behalf. Roles and responsibilities of the reporting entity and their service providerThe roles and responsibilities of a service provider are all linked to reporting. A service provider is responsible for the transmission of reports to FINTRAC as delegated to the service provider by a reporting entity. The reporting entity is still responsible for ensuring all reporting occurs in the prescribed manner and format. The location maintenance (update a branch address, etc.) remains the responsibility of the reporting entity. Service providers will not be able to maintain location information. The service provider is responsible for making any required changes to reports previously submitted by the service provider (i.e., changes requested by the service provider or changes requested by FINTRAC). Communication regarding reports submitted by the service provider will be between FINTRAC and the service provider. FINTRAC will share some information about the reporting entity (such as name and address) with the service provider regarding the acceptance or revocation of a reporting entity. Sharing this information will ensure that a service provider has selected the appropriate reporting entity. |
