Full-size Exhibition
This unprecedented photographic odyssey through the beauty and diversity of Canada's national parks is an invitation from the photographer, Dr. Roberta Bondar, "to celebrate, enjoy and help preserve our magnificent natural heritage." Over the course of two years, Bondar energetically travelled the country by plane, helicopter, boat and snowshoe in order to record images of all of Canada's national parks.
The exhibition is thematically organized, based on the photographs' visual qualities rather than on a geographic (East to West) or political (by province and territory) basis, thereby moving beyond iconic views of the Canadian landscape to give visitors the chance to see the country anew.
An interactive computer station, based on material from Parks Canada's Web site, offers visitors the chance to take virtual tours, or learn about the natural history, of many of the parks profiled in the exhibition.
