HP OpenView Operations Remote Unauthorized Access and DoS Vulnerability

Purpose

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to a vulnerability identified in HP OpenView Operations.

Assessment

A vulnerability has been identified in HP OpenView Operations, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service or gain unauthorized access to a vulnerable system. This flaw is due to a memory corruption error in the embedded Apache web server that does not properly handle malformed chunk-encoded HTTP requests.

This vulnerability affects the following versions of HP OpenView Operations:

  • HP OpenView Operations 7.1
  • HP OpenView Operations 8.0
  • HP OpenView Operations 8.1
  • HP OpenView Operations for Windows a.07.21
  • HP OpenView Operations for Windows a.07.20
  • HP OpenView Operations for Windows a.07.10
  • HP OpenView Operations for Windows a.07.00
