March 23, 2006 -- The Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of Public Safety, will be touring the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) operations at the Port of Vancouver. Following his tour, there will be a photo opportunity of the Minister receiving a demonstration of the CBSA’s contraband detection equipment, including the Remote Operated Vehicle (used in the marine environment for under-vessel detection). After the visit, Minister Day will be joined by British Columbia ’s Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, the Honorable John Les, and will present a payment to B.C. under the Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements.
