Multiple vulnerabilities in Winamp 5.12 and prior versions

Purpose

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to multiple vulnerabilities in Winamp on Microsoft Windows systems.

Assessment

Boundary errors in the handling of filenames and playlists can be exploited to cause buffer overflows. Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities may allow the execution of arbitrary code by a remote user. An exploit is publicly available; however some user interaction is required.

Affected products:
Winamp version 5.094, 5.11 and 5.12. Other versions may be affected.

Suggested action

Update to version 5.13
