Buffer overflow vulnerability in Adobe Acrobat

Purpose

The purpose of this advisory is to bring your attention to a buffer overflow vulnerability in Adobe Acrobat.

Assessment

Malicious content inserted into a file, such as a document, could trigger a buffer overflow if the file is distilled to PDF with Adobe Acrobat. A buffer overflow can cause Acrobat to crash and can result in malicious code execution. This vulnerability affects Adobe Acrobat 6.0.4 and earlier.

Suggested action
