CCIRC is building partnerships with federal departments, provincial and territorial governments and owners of major critical infrastructure. This effort is to strengthen the national network of organizations that have a stake in cyber security. These partnerships are also helping the Centre to provide its services more accurately and effectively.
Current initiatives include:

  • Coordination of incident response across jurisdictions: CCIRC is fully engaged in the federal all-hazards emergency management framework, National Emergency Response System (NERS).
  • Fostering information sharing between organizations and jurisdictions: CCIRC chairs or participates in a number of forums including federal-provincial teams as well as international working groups.
  • Enhancing the timeliness, clarity and reach of security warnings: CCIRC issues alerts, advisories and information notes and is a participant in the Government Operations Centre's Warning Pilot Project.
  • Building relationships for incident reporting: CCIRC is developing a secure online incident reporting form, a secure extranet site, and drafting a Government of Canada incident management standard.
