The College

The Canadian Emergency Management College (CEMC) offers programs for emergency management personnel and practitioners in emergency management and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) response. The programs are developed through consultation with federal, provincial and territorial partners, first responders and subject matter experts.

Recently there has been renewed focus on emergency management training issues from federal and provincial levels of government. As a result, there is movement to broaden and enrich the College program. Steps already taken in this direction include increased focus on the College being a resource centre for the emergency management community and new efforts to promote emergency management education. Training programs focused on the National Emergency Response System and critical infrastructure are currently being considered. The College is working with its partners and clients to ensure that its program addresses key priorities and gaps.
