Critical dates

The following deadlines are necessary to ensure that all jurisdictions have fair access to the program. Government of Canada funds are usually approved at the start of the fiscal year and every effort is made to expend all allocated funds before the end of the fiscal year:

Activity

February 1

The PSEPC Regional Director forwards the recommended list to PSEPC headquarters for consideration.

April 1

The Senior Assistant Deputy Minister responsible for Emergency Management and National Security (SADM) approves the lists and communicates the decision to the provinces/territories on all proposals through the PSEPC regional offices.

April 10

Deadline for submission of claims from the previous fiscal year, as well as for advising the PSEPC Regional Director of any funds that are to be protected under PAYE.

June 15

Deadline for the receipt of claims from the previous fiscal year that were protected under PAYE.

October 1

Provinces/Territories must provide a status report of all proposals to the regional office and funds no longer required will be reallocated by PSEPC.
