Crime prevention initiatives

PSEPC provides funding to Aboriginal police services for crime prevention initiatives through the Policing, Corrections and Community Fund. To be eligible for funding, projects must aim to:

  • involve Aboriginal police services or other community police services working in partnership with Aboriginal communities
  • promote social development through community-based policing projects
  • increase community capacity and participation in crime prevention activities
  • assist in the development of safe, sustainable communities
  • demonstrate the potential to encourage and facilitate partnerships
  • develop tools and strategies useful in other communities or nationally
