Calgary, AB / July / Two separate hail storms hit the city. High winds of 100 km/h accompanied storm. Flooding and hail damage caused $63.4 million in damages.

2 1996 Estimated damage: $303 million + $87.8 million
for second hail storm

Calgary, AB / July / Hail storm caused heavy flooding and extensive damage to property and automobiles. A second hail storm six days later added another.

Winnipeg, MB / July / Tennis-ball-sized hail smashed property, crops, gardens and windows. A tornado accompanied high winds.

Calgary, AB / August / A thunderstorm produced up to 5 cm hailstones in addition to 40-200 mm of rain. Flooding and hail damaged 3,000 properties and 2,000 automobiles.

Montréal, QC / May / Hail up to 8 cm in diameter fell on the city.

Windsor to Leamington, ON / May / Five people were killed when golf-ball-sized hailstones smashed greenhouses, damaged property and flattened crops.
