Terry Harasym is a professional agrologist with more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian grain industry. He has served in executive positions with the Saskatchewan and Alberta Wheat Pools, as well as with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Grains and Oilseeds Branch in the late 1980s. Mr. Harasym holds Bachelor of Science degrees in genetics and agriculture from the University of Alberta. He has extensive experience in strategic economic, business and policy development; international trade; grain handling, transportation and marketing; research and development; biotechnology; and food safety.
Terry Harasym was appointed assistant chief commissioner in October 2002.
