Daniel Perry received a Master of Science at the University of Alberta in 1985 and a doctorate from the University of Minnesota in 1996. He has held positions in population genetics and molecular biology research at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario; Université Laval in Quebec City, Quebec; and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia. Since joining the Canadian Grain Commission as a research scientist in 2000, his research has focused on the development of DNA-based methods to determine the variety composition of wheat and barley shipments.
