Access Keys

Access keys have been assigned to the navigation bar items at the top of every page. This will allow for quick movement within the site. Assigned access keys can be displayed on screen by placing the cursor over a navigation menu item, as in the example below:

In Microsoft Windows, use the Alt key in addition to the access key. On an Apple system, use the Cmd key in addition to the access key.

Please note: In Internet Explorer 5.x, using the access key points to the link, but does not activate it. Activate the link by selecting the Enter key. In Netscape 6.x, the access key activates the link. Netscape 4.x does not support the access key feature.

The following three access keys have been enabled mainly for use with screen readers and personal digital assistants:

Tab Order (Tabindex)

The browser's default tab order has been changed for efficient tabbing within the pages. When the focus box is positioned at your selection, use the Enter key to follow the link. The example to the right shows how the focus box will appear on screen.

Please note: Internet Explorer 5.x supports this feature; Netscape browsers cycle through in the default tab order.

Design Standards

This site uses 216 colours. Your system should be configured to display at least 256 colours in 640 x 480 resolution or higher. Your WWW browser should be capable of displaying tables, handling electronic forms, displaying graphic images, and support all HTML extensions. A minimal connection of 28,800 BPS is also recommended.
