OTHER THAN STATUTORY AUTHORITY

United Nations Medal for Special Service Order

P.C. 1997-1216 28 August, 1997

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby

(a) authorizes Canadians to accept and wear the United Nations Medal for Special Service in recognition of honourable service with the United Nations in capacities other than established peacekeeping missions and at the United Nations Headquarters; and

(b) directs that the United Nations Medal for Special Service follow all other United Nations specific-mission medals and precede the International Commission and Organization Medals in the order of precedence in the Canadian Honours System.
