Estimating moisture content of crops for which there are no Model 919 and 393 moisture meter conversion tables

Note: For beans, the ‘damp’ moisture range is over 18%.

Crops for which there are no moisture meter conversion tables
Crop Procedure
Azuki Beans Use the CGC Cranberry Bean Chart #2 with a 250 gram sample and subtract 2.5% moisture from the chart result.
Dutch Brown Beans Use the CGC Pea Bean Chart #2 and subtract 1.1% moisture from the chart result.
Eastern White Kidney Beans Use the CGC Dark Red Kidney Beans Chart #2 and add 0.5 to the result.
Great Northern White Beans Use the CGC Pea Bean Chart #2 and subtract 1.4% moisture from the chart result.
Kintoki Beans Use the CGC Dark Red Kidney Bean Chart #2 and read the results directly.
Light Red Kidney Beans Use the CGC Dark Red Kidney Beans Chart #2 and read the results directly.
Otebo Beans Use the CGC Pea Bean Chart # 2 and subtract 0.3% from the chart result.
Pink Beans Use the CGC Pea Bean Chart #2 and subtract 1.1% moisture from the chart result.
Small Red Beans Use the regression formula:
% moisture = 0.155 X meter reading + 8.03 + {0.1 X (22 - T)}
T = sample temperature (C)
Sample Size -- 250 grams
Mixed Grain Use the conversion table and the tough and damp limits of the predominant grain.
