Independent review of the Canadian Grain Commission and the Canada Grain Act
An independent comprehensive review of the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) and the Canada Grain Act (CGA) has been completed and was tabled in Parliament on September 18, 2006. Legislation adopted by Parliament in 2005 required that such a review be conducted. The Government of Canada contracted COMPAS Inc. to conduct this review.
COMPAS consulted with industry stakeholders and the general public in the process of conducting this review. The review considered the following areas:
- Mandate and Governance of the CGC
- Inspection and Weighing
- Quality Assurance
- Liability
- Security
- Dispute Resolution
- Grain Research
As this was an independent review the views and recommendations are those of COMPAS Inc. and do not necessarily represent those of the Government of Canada.
