National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST)

NWEST is a national police service of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Its members are committed to supporting front-line police / public agencies in the gathering of evidence in order to assist them in successfully prosecuting persons involved in the illegal movement and criminal use of firearms.

Members of NWEST work with the law enforcement community to enhance best practices in areas where experience is not yet in place as a day-to-day tool. This quality police service is provided by RCMP / provincial / municipal police service members who are strategically located throughout Canada.
