The Federal Labour Standards Review Commission will be holding a public hearing in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Federal Labour Standards Review Commission is holding public hearings in the fall of 2005 in 14 cities across Canada. The mandate of the Commission is to conduct a comprehensive review of federal labour standards and report back to the Minister of Labour and Housing with legislative and non legislative options to improve the workplace. Federal labour standards are under Part III of the Canada Labour Code and currently address such issues as hours of work, minimum wage, unjust dismissals and annual vacation.

Media are invited to attend the hearings. Commissioner Harry W. Arthurs will be available for media interviews.
