Mr. Peter Seheult appointed part-time member of the Military Police Complaints Commission

Ottawa, May 24, 2002 -- The Government of Canada announced the appointment of Mr. Peter Seheult as a part-time member of the Military Police Complaints Commission.

Mr. Seheult is a lawyer specialized in Arbitration, Mediation, Administrative Law, Real Estate and Civil Litigation. He has significant experience in police ethics having held the position of acting Chairman of the New Brunswick Police Commission from 1998 to 2000.

Playing an acting role in his community, Mr. Seheult has been involved in various professional and community service associations, and continues his involvement in several organizations such as The Network Interaction for Conflict Resolution, the National Centre for Preventive Law, and the Council of Canadian Administrative Tribunals. He is currently a member of the Canadian Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement (CACOLE)..

Mr. Seheult is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts as well as his Law Degree.

This appointment is effective immediately.
