PHYSICAL SECURITY
A facility must be designed to include physical safeguards that will
protect against unauthorized access, detect attempted or actual unauthorized
access and activate an effective response. These measures are what we
call physical security and they are necessary in order to control access
to government CLASSIFIED / PROTECTED information and assets.
The physical security requirements at an organization's facility will
vary depending on the security marking of the information or assets to be
held at the site, as well as the physical layout of the facility, as
each facility is unique.
The organization may have to implement physical security measures such
as progressively restricted security zones, locked doors, access control
systems, intrusion alarm systems, approved security containers, destruction
equipment and other applicable measures. In addition, administrative
security requirements such as the establishment of company security
guidelines and security awareness programs have to be considered.
