We are pleased to extend best wishes and congratulations to our colleagues in the Canadian and International Industrial Security Directorate on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the creation of the Industrial Security Program. The Industrial Security Program was established in 1941 to support and protect the Canadian Industry directly involved in the war effort. Over the past sixty-five years the Industrial Security Program has evolved to include protection and support, not only for the broad range of military contracts when classified information and assets are involved, but for those of a non-military nature as well.
The Controlled Goods Program was created five years ago and while much younger, is modeled on the Industrial Security Program and we have found the model to be a sound one. On this, for your 65th anniversary, please accept the best wishes of all members of the Controlled Goods Program, and our recognition and respect for the contributions that each of you make on a daily basis to Canada and its national security.![top of page](/web/20061025235720im_/http://www.iss.gc.ca/images/bullets/top.gif)
