Source: http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/A-6/SOR-94-549/text.html Regulation current to September 15, 2006 Quebec Hog Marketing Levies (Interprovincial and Export Trade) Order SOR/94-549 AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS MARKETING ACT Quebec Hog Marketing Levies (Interprovincial and Export Trade) Order The Fédération des producteurs de porc du Québec, pursuant to sections 3 and 4 of the Quebec Hog Marketing Order, made by Order in Council P.C. 1979-2717 of October 11, 1979*, hereby makes the annexed Order providing for the fixing, imposing and collecting of levies from producers in the Province of Quebec who are engaged in the production or marketing of hogs in interprovincial and export trade. Longueuil, Quebec, August 8, 1994 * SOR/79-727, 1979 Canada Gazette Part II, p. 3633 ORDER PROVIDING FOR THE FIXING, IMPOSING AND COLLECTING OF LEVIES FROM PRODUCERS IN THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC WHO ARE ENGAGED IN THE PRODUCTION OR MARKETING OF HOGS IN INTERPROVINCIAL AND EXPORT TRADE 1. This Order may be cited as the Quebec Hog Marketing Levies (Interprovincial and Export Trade) Order. 2. In this Order, "Act" means An Act of the Province of Quebec entitled An Act Respecting the Marketing of Agricultural, Food and Fish Products, R.S.Q., c. M-35.1; (loi) "Commodity Board" means the Fédération des producteurs de porc du Québec established pursuant to the Act; (Fédération) "producer" means a person engaged in the production of hogs, sows or boars in the Province of Quebec; (producteur) "sow and boar" means a sow and boar produced in the Province of Quebec. (truie et verrat) 3. Every producer shall pay to the Commodity Board in respect of any hogs, sows or boars, as the case may be, sold or marketed by the producer in interprovincial or export trade: (a) a levy of $0.833 per hog; and (b) a levy of $7.14 per sow or boar. 4. The levies imposed pursuant to section 3 shall be paid to the Commodity Board by the producer, by cheque mailed to the Commodity Board at its headquarters in Longueuil, Quebec, by the 15th day of each month in respect of hogs, sows and boars sold or marketed during the preceding month. |
