Quality Service Innovation

Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System (CIPRS)

Value to the End User

Identity Preservation lets processors get the products they need to build better businesses.

As consumers become more demanding, food processors need to be able to get the products they need to ensure the product going out the door will satisfy their customers. Sourcing specialty grains, oilseeds and pulses through an Identity Preserved program is one of the best ways to make sure this happens. The Canadian Grain Commission's Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System (CIPRS) pilot program identifies suppliers that have a recognized quality management system in place, ensuring their Identity Preserved program delivers what the customer wants through an audited and documented process control system.

Consider some of the benefits a certified identity preservation system can bring.

The Right Product

Be confident the product is precisely what was ordered. CIPRS certified suppliers deliver value by having processes in place to ensure the product is just what was specified every time. Customer focus and product provision are important elements of the CIPRS Standard. The controls in the Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System Standard ensure the processes are in place to make sure product is just what was specified to get value to an operation.

Traceability

Know what you got and where it came from. Proper documentation is a key part of the CIPRS Standard and provides traceback through the value chain.

Due Diligence

Have confidence in what you receive. The ability to trace back product and show that suppliers have taken proper steps to control processes is good business practice in today's world.

Links to International Systems

Be more efficient through harmonization. Work is underway to link CIPRS to other international programs. The Standard is compatible with ISO and other quality management systems. Negotiations are taking place with the goal of having the program cross-recognized with other national standards overseas.

Peace of Mind

Rely on the Canadian Grain Commission. The Canadian Grain Commission has a global reputation in grain quality assurance. The CIPRS Standard, independent third party audits, and certification provide peace of mind that a supplier's identity preservation processes can deliver the specialty products customers demand.
