For Sponsoring Groups

These applications are for groups made up of Canadians and permanent residents who want to sponsor refugees who are outside of Canada. Before submitting your application, contact the CIC Call Centre to see if you need to fill out any additional forms or provide any additional documents.

• Refugee Sponsorship: Sponsorship Agreement Holders and Constituent Groups
  This application is for Sponsorship Agreement Holders and their Constituent Groups who wish to sponsor refugees seeking resettlement.
• Refugee Sponsorship: Joint Assistance Sponsorships
  This application is for Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs) and their Constituent Groups who wish to sponsor a refugee under the Joint Assistance Sponsorship (JAS) Program.
• Refugee Sponsorship: Groups of Five
  This application is for groups of five of more Canadians or permanent residents who wish to sponsor refugees coming to Canada.
• Refugee Sponsorship: Community Sponsors
  This application is for community sponsors who wish to sponsor refugees living outside of Canada.

For Refugees

This application must be completed by refugee applicants who are outside of Canada. Applications will only be accepted for refugees who have been sponsored, except for refugees who can apply directly for resettlement to Canada. Prior to submitting your application, contact a visa office to see if you need to fill out any additional forms or provide any additional documents.

• Application for Permanent Residence in Canada: Convention Refugees Abroad and Humanitarian Protected Persons Abroad
  This application is for persons in need of protection who wish to resettle in Canada as refugees. To qualify, an applicant must meet the definition of a Convention Refugee seeking resettlement or be a member of the Humanitarian Protected Persons Abroad Class (Country of Asylum or Source Country class).
