Description

The Corporations Directorate is charged with administering the: - Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA); - Canada Corporations Act (CCA-non-profit); - Boards of Trade Act (BOTA); - Canada Cooperative Associations Act (CCAA); and - several other corporate laws governing federal companies, except the financial intermediaries. The Directorate's main lines of business include: - incorporation and related services such as amalgamation or other corporate charter amendments; - dissolution of corporations; - ruling on the use of corporate names; - collection and dissemination of information on federal companies; and - compliance and enforcement activities related to the statuses administered.
