Who Can Apply Directly to Resettle as a Refugee to Canada?

This is a list of countries designated as “source countries.” Residents of the countries listed below may apply directly for resettlement to Canada by applying directly to the Canadian visa office serving that region. Applicants from these countries are Source Country Class applicants.

DR Congo Nairobi, Kenya
Sudan Cairo, Egypt
El Salvador Guatemala City, Guatemala
Guatemala Guatemala City, Guatemala
Colombia Bogota, Colombia
Sierra Leone Accra, Ghana

If your country of residence is not listed above, you are not eligible to apply for resettlement directly. You can apply only after being referred by a referral organization such as the UNHCR or a private sponsoring group.
