Linear Grain, a privately owned, licensed and bonded company, was founded in 1981 in the town of Carman, 80 kilometers southwest of Winnipeg, Manitoba in the heart of some of the best farmland in Canada. Originally created to offer farmers an alternative to the traditional grain elevator system, Linear Agra (Man.) Ltd. as it was then known, was principally involved in marketing local corn production to the feed trade and distilling industry. Expansion into cereal grains, edible beans, oilseeds, soy beans, specialty crops, grain by-products and fertilizer has come with growth and in reaction to increasing demand for more flexible and innovative ways to meet the challenges of today's marketplace.
