Parker Hannifin

In March, 2004, Parker Hannifin Canada, a division of Cleveland-based Parker Hannifin Corporation, opened a 137,000 square foot Motion & Control facility in Milton, Ontario. The move put its personnel of 150 and manufacturing, storage, distribution, training and administration divisions in one location, thus consolidating operations previously carried out in Etobicoke, Mississauga and in a smaller, leased facility in Milton.

"Milton met all our criteria," explains Harry Hartrick, Business Unit Manager for Parker Hannifin Canada, Cylinder Business Unit. "We needed the convenience of easy access to the Windsor-Montreal corridor on Highway 401 because many of our major customers drive this highway. We also wanted to take our employees—and their experience—with us from our Etobicoke and Mississauga plants, so we didn´t wish to move too far afield. Milton fit the bill. In addition, the town and the Region of Halton were very accommodating. Every issue that arose was fixed."

Parker Hannifin is the world leader in motion and control components and systems—all of which are serviced in the Milton facility, which also handles distribution for a host of other Parker Hannifin products. With annual sales of $ US 7 billion, Parker Hannifin employs more than 48,000 people in 46 countries around the world serving the commercial, mobile, industrial and aerospace markets.
