NRC-IIT Paper Wins Award

Dr. Eric Paquet of NRC-IIT’s Visual Information Technologies group has received the prestigious PKDD Innovative Application award for his paper "Measuring to Fit: Virtual Tailoring through Cluster Analysis and Classification". The paper will be presented in a special plenary session at the 17th European Conference on Machine Learning and the 10th European Conference on Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (ECML PKDD 2006) in Berlin, Germany, to be held from September 18-22, 2006.
Dr. Paquet, along with colleagues Prof. Herna L Viktor and Hongyu Guo from the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE), University of Ottawa, competed against hundreds of submissions from international researchers and organizations to win this distinguished prize. The award also comes with a small monetary compensation sponsored by KD-Ubiq.
